Peaceful Waves, Chaotic Mind

The Ocean was always her favorite place to be, especially when her mind just wouldn't shut up. Kisa sat down on the edge of a pier, dangling her legs over the edge. She was wearing a light blue dress that reached down to her mid-calfs and had short sleeves. Her long blue hair whipped in the ocean breeze as she stared at the waves. So calming, so soothing...it was quite a relief from the hell she had gone through with the shadow realm just recently.

Kisa closed her eyes and breathed in the ocean air, feeling the mist of the water rest on her neck. Destiny Hero - Dasher appeared beside her and crossed his arms as he watched the waves as well. The two remained silent, both knowing that this moment was just too nice to ruin.

A young man walked along the edge of the pier, several feet away from the edge as he, too, watched the ocean. Behind him was the silhouette of a beast covered in various pieces of scrap metal. It followed behind him obediently and he'd reached back to pet it lightly. Above him floated a gigantic silhouette of a large, mechanical dragon. It was quiet as its wings flapped, the gears within its body turning to keep it moving. The man smiled a bit as his eyes scanned the length of the pier before him, stopping as he'd caught sight of a beautiful woman.

He'd walked up behind her and looked out at the ocean before the both of them. He'd taken a deep breath and let it all out slowly, still looking towards her with a smile. He didn't say anything, nor did he make any other movements towards her. He'd just stood behind her and watched the ocean with her, thoroughly enjoying the serenity of the area around them. There were no loud sounds, nor were there the sounds of technology beyond the gentle clinks and hums of Gadjiltron Dragon. This truly was a moment that was too nice to ruin and he'd hoped that his appearance wit her would make it all the better.

Dasher turned to look at the newcomer, flexing as if preparing for a fight. However, upon seeing Lumis, he relaxed and nodded silently before turning to gaze upon the ocean once more. Kisa, too, felt the presence of someone standing behind her, and with a small gust of wind, she caught a familiar scent. Without even having to turn around, she knew exactly who it was, and she stepped back and leaned against him.

It had been years since they first met back at the Academy. Since that day, they'd fallen in love, especially after their first kiss (however unexpected that was). The two had grown together, sharing each day with each other, even though she was of Obelisk Blue, the highest ranking dorm; while he was a Ra Yellow...soon having been demoted through pure bad luck. And just when they thought things would be great for the rest of their lives, Kisa had to leave

She'd gone off to pursue her dream: archaeology. She had been given her own team, and was exploring numerous ruins and tombs. She was happy as could be, though she terribly missed Lumis. Then that fateful encounter with the shadow realm changed her life forever. Lumis had saved her from that hell almost 3 years later....and though she was still having a hard time coping with her emotions and post-trauma...she still loved him dearly, and took comfort in the knowledge that he, too, loved her just as much, if not more

Kisa breathed in slowly, resting her body against his warmth. No matter what...he was her calm in the storm....her own sanctuary. Just his very presence often scared away any negative that she might be holding. "Good morning, Lumis" she spoke softly to him.

Lumis' lips formed into a grin as he'd wrapped his arms around her when she'd leaned into him. His mind flashed back to when they had first met in the forest and the first time he'd kissed her. He was in Ra and she was an Obelisk. In truth, it was probably something that made a lot of other boys envious of him. The year after that, though, he had been demoted. That didn't stop them, though and they lived happily for a little while after that. When they'd graduated, however, they'd been separated.

Of course, they still communicated often through e-mail or letters. She often talked about how much fun she was having or how exciting it was and he couldn't help but be happy for her. As long as she was happy, he was happy. However, he'd stopped receiving the letters and the e-mails and he'd grown worried for her. He started his search for her a month after her last e-mail and searched for her constantly until he'd ended up back in Domino. There, he'd found her once again and his struggle to save her from the darkness began. Even after he'd saved her, he had to help her deal with the trauma and the pain that remained. He didn't mind it at all. After all, he'd loved her and was glad that she was back in his arms.

He'd breathed her in as she did with him and took a slow breath out. It was moments like these that he'd missed the most. His head leaned forward and kissed her lightly on the cheek, laughing lightly next to her. This felt just right. "Good morning, my lovely Dragon Mistress. Have you been here all morning? You should've let me know so that we could enjoy the sunrise together."

His laughter startled her...why on earth would he laugh? "I've actually been here for a while...since about three, in fact." She turned around to face him and wrapped her arms around him. "It was another nightmare...the same as usual...I couldn't sleep. You know the sea is so calm...it helps me relax. Just like you do." Kisa smiled and kissed his lips softly.

Kisa had bought this house for them, using the money she had received from that last expedition. The pay had been so great that she decided to take a break from digging until she was fully recovered.

She broke the kiss and stared at him for a moment. There seemed to be something in his eyes...something different about his smile.

He was hiding something.

She lifted a finger and smiled as she spoke and caressed his face. "Lumis...is everything alright?"

Lumis felt her finger caress his cheek and he'd chuckled a little more. It seemed that she'd sensed that something was different about him today. His arms kept holding her close and he'd rested his head on her shoulder, sighing contently. Perhaps this was the moment he was waiting for. He'd turned her around and looked deeply into her eyes, his crimson hues staring longingly into her sapphire gaze. His hands slid around her waist and he'd turned his head back and gave what appeared to be a signal. From behind a nearby pole, a small cabbit came out from behind wearing what appeared to be a sash. Lumis returned his eyes to Kisa and gave her the warmest smile he could.

"Everything is perfect, Kisa. Which is why I have to talk to you about something. We've known each other for 7 long, amazing years. When we first met and I'd kissed you, that was the beginning of our relationship. As we'd gotten to know each other, we'd gotten closer and closer. You're the smartest, most beautiful, most amazing girl I've ever met. You're strong, you're stubborn, you know when to cry and you know when to smile. I love everything about you and that's exactly why we've come to this moment in time."

Lumis had gotten down on one knee and held her hand, Wiz hopping up on his leg and landing on his shoulder, turning around to reveal that something was around the sash that he was wearing. Lumis looked up at her with an adoration that he'd never before looked at her with and his voice came out slowly, but firmly. Confident in his answer, he'd grasped at the thing on Wiz's sash and the sash gave way so that he could slide it around her ring finger. It was a silver and bronze band that had Blue-Eyes and Gadjiltron Dragon engraved, intertwining with each other around it. "Kisa Ashina. Will you marry me?"

Kisa could not believe what she was seeing. She just couldn't! This had to be a dream....

But it wasn't. Wiz was there, Lumis was there....she was there. Lumis had gotten down on one knee, and Kisa gasped once the sash let loose from Wiz. A ring....Lumis on one knee....

Lumis Raonlier was proposing to her!

"Oh...my.....Oh Lumis...." Kisa felt like she might faint, her head spinning and feeling weak all of a sudden. There was only one other time when Lumis had made her feel this way: their first kiss, back in that cafe at the academy. Actually, there was one other time....but we don't talk about that.

Lumis by now had already slipped the ring on her finger, and she raised it towards her face to look at it. Bronze and Silver....and their two main monsters engraved....Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Ancient Gear Gadjilitron Dragon. The ring fit perfectly around her left ring finger. This day couldn't possibly get any better...could it? Kisa flung her arms around his neck and tackled him to the ground on the pier and kissed him softly but excitedly. Tears began streaming down her face as she laughed and said, "Oh yes, Lumis Raonlier.....I will marry you!" The tears kept coming, she couldn't control them at all. She tried wiping them away, but still they flowed. "Gosh....I can't stop crying....Lumis....you make me so happy!"

Before Kisa had tackled Lumis to the floor, Wiz had jumped off of his shoulder and landed gracefully before looking happily back at the couple. Lumis seemed extremely pleased with her response and wrapped his arms around her, laying there comfortably and sighing in both relief and content. He'd lifted a hand to her face and caressed her cheek lightly, wiping away a tear with the back of his index finger, a large smile on his face. He had been planning to propose to her ever since he'd brought her back from the darkness, but didn't know when to ask. Right now just seemed so right. He'd planned to do it later that day, but when would be a better time than now?

"Making you happy is the least I can do. You are my dearest love and you deserve nothing but happiness." He'd pulled her closer and pressed his lips against hers, slowly and arse, keeping their lips held together in his gentle embrace as he'd thought about their future now. Things could only go up from here. After all, they were now coming to a new beginning. He had no way of knowing how it'd turn out, but... It would be great. For the both of them.

Slowly breaking the kiss, he'd looked at her ever more and laughed lightly. He'd sat up a bit, still holding her in his arms and looked back towards the ocean. It was only for a moment, however, before he'd brought his eyes back to hers. "So, we need to plan a wedding now, don't we? Got any ideas?"

"We could elope." Without even thinking, those words poured out of her mouth. She hadn't even realized she'd said them until directly after saying them. Her eyes widened a bit, surprised at herself for suggesting such a thing. She rolled off of him, and sat up, moving her skirt over her knees.

Kisa smiled at Lumis. The idea wasn't that bad at all, really. They'd known each other for over 7 years....no friends were around who might want to come for a wedding ceremony....her own parents were thousands of miles away on an expedition. And, factoring in her own aggressive attitude, the idea was, in fact, perfect in her opinion.

"That is if you're ok with that." She grinned and rocked back and forth slightly. She could feel the ring on her finger...it felt like it belonged there, but at the same time, it felt very strange to have a foreign object on her hand. She fought the urge to play with it.

Dasher appeared, his arms still crossed. It was impossible to tell his emotions because he wore a mask, and he always crossed his arms unless in battle or unless he was racing down the road. He just stood there and watched the couple, smiling behind his mask. It was about time.

Ryoko, known currently as Lady Crow, dragged her feet along the rugged oceanfront. She clutched her forehead, yanking down her strange goggles over her eyes. She should be happy right? That was the emotion she had heard humans call it, 'happiness.' Yet, the girl felt nothing at all, she was empty inside; save for her confusion.

She was chosen. She should be happy, right? A silent humming followed behind her into the form of her ace card, Dark Flat Top. The monster appeared to be a strange cross between a jellyfish and an aircraft carrier. The monster seemed oddly at peace, being around its natural aquatic habitat. The wind blew roughly, catching her hair in the updraft as it flowed wildly behind her. Luckily her eyes were protected by the goggles. Looking around curiously, the girl hoped to find something to satisfy her endless curiosity. She hungered to known the things humans called "emotions." Her master had told her emotions could only be seen through duels. Ryoko raised her right arm to stare at her duel disk, wondering just how true the man's words were.

"I'm . . Special . . Right?" She questioned hesitantly, looking back to her precious Flat Top. The monster gave her a blank stare, or what little stare a monster without eyes could give. It simply hummed lowly, moving ahead of her without hesitation, as is signaling her to keep moving forward. She giggled a bit and chased behind him obediently. "I sense them too~ Let's go discover emotions!"

Lumis heard her idea to elope and wasn't too surprised about it. After all, Kisa had always been that sort of girl and that was what Lumis loved about her. He'd wrapped his arm around her hip and kept her close, kissing her lightly before replying with, "I'd love that." It'd taken him awhile to find someone who would make that particular ring. He'd managed to do it though and he'd paid every single cent through his own savings. He'd wanted this moment to be something like this. It actually turned out a lot more smooth than he'd originally planned. And Wiz played his part perfectly.

The little cabbit seemed to giggle a little as he'd hopped up onto Lumis' chest and curled up into a comfortable little ball. It'd been a long time since the three of them could just relax in peace like this. However, this peace was broken by an overwhelming feeling that there was another person coming towards them. Scrap Beast seemed to be growling in the direction of a girl that was a little younger than them. Above her was one of the largest duel spirits Lumis would ever lay eyes upon. Getting up quickly, but being careful not to hurt Kisa or Wiz, Lumis looked towards the newcomer with suspicious eyes while Scrap Beast continues to growl at the other Duel Spirit. Gadjiltron Dragon hovered overhead, looking over them and seemingly ready for a battle.

"Excuse me, miss. Can we help you with anything?" He'd tried to say this as politely as possible, but sounded a little nervous. There was also the unconscious suspicion that Lumis had for all people that were getting closer to him and Kisa now. After all, he didn't want to lose her again.

This moment was so perfect....so amazing. Kisa never wanted it to end. For a while she stared out at the ocean, sighing contentedly. Then it happened....

Call it a woman's intuition. Call it reflexes from her time in the shadow realm. Call her paranoid. But someone....something....was coming their way. At nearly the same time as Lumis, she jumped to her feet, her eyes serious, her heart racing. Whatever it was....it felt dark....and whatever it was, it was already causing her body to shiver slightly. She fingered the duel disk on her left arm, the feel of it against her fingers giving her confidence.

Destiny Hero-Dasher sensed her reactions and immediately sped in front of her, defensively. He wouldn't let anything happen to her, if he could help it. Kisa felt a little proud to see him move to protect her, but at the same time, a bit of pride swelled up inside her. She didn't need protecting....she wasn't a little kid! On the other hand though....whatever it was coming their way, Kisa really didn't feel like fighting. Maybe she'd just let Lumis handle this one....

Then she saw it....a Dark Flat Top....one of the biggest duel monsters she'd ever seen, save for the God Cards. She'd seen her share of duel spirits in the shadow realm, and had only recently begun to see them now that she had returned and regained her soul. What was it doing? Just following someone? What did it want? What did they want? She prayed she was getting worked up for nothing....but something told her otherwise...

Ryouko smiled happily, skipping along the beach as she eventually came to a stop, feeling a strange presence nearby. No, scratch that, she was feeling more than 3 different monster spirits up ahead of her. Her body was practically shivering with anticipation as she hopped up onto the bridge of Dark Flat Top, trying to get a better view up ahead. Peeling off her goggles, she spotted the two figures up ahead of her, as well as the monster spirits that were accompanying them.

Her eyes traveled between the two curiously, trying to analyze their abilities through her read. Her monster's ability allowed her to "scan" her enemies so to speak, as long as she was in direct contact with her Dark Flat. As the male spoke to her, she waved enthusiastically smiling brightly at them. "Hello there! You can call me Karasu. You two are really strong! Ta-kun could feel your presence all the way from the other end of the beach!" she exclaimed, petting the cold steel of her monster, as she sat on top of it.

Her eyes seemed to have an odd glow to them now, shimmering a pale green as her focus moved now more toward the girl. Her aura wasn't giving off quite the killing intent her friend's did, but there was something strange about it. Dark . . Familiar. . Had this girl been to the shadow realm before? Maybe she was like her; is what she seemed to think. But no, Karasu was special. No one was like her. Master had told her so. She smiled, her body rocking lightly as she sat, grinning childishly. "Like I said, you're strong. And you," she said, now pointing to Kisa. "I sense something dark in you, like me. "

Chuku was in a really good mood. He had just recently gotten his new duel disk made and he had located his target. Some people said that they saw her near the docks. As he made it there, he noticed 3 people there. One of them was his target, but who were the other two? All of them had duel monster spirits above him, which was strange; the odds of 3 people who could see spirits coming together like this were very low. No matter, the target would not escape him. He moved towards her.

There was the low groans of steel as Flat Top felt another presence nearby them. Ryouko, shivered inwardly as she knew from the feel of his energy she didn't like the male. Her entire body was on end, her nerves not settling for a single second. She didn't like this feeling. What was it humans called it? Fear? She wrapped her arms around her person tightly and dropped to her knees and curling over. "Keep him away from me! Karasu doesn't want to fight anymore!" she cried out hysterically, not sure if the other two even knew what she was talking about, but she didn't really care.

Karasu... Crow...? Lumis didn't take his eyes off of this new girl, for awhile, listening to her talk about Kisa. His hands balled up into fists and he'd stepped in front of Kisa protectively. Wiz's hairs were standing on end as it hissed towards a new person. He was walking in their general direction and Lumis didn't like the feeling of this guy either. Gadjiltron Dragon landed in front of Lumis, roaring in the direction of the new comer. Lumis' eyes darted about between the two people coming towards both him and Kisa and thoughts ran through his head.

Why are they after Kisa? Did something happen in the Shadow Realm that I don't know about? What'll happen to us? What can we do? Lumis didn't quite know what would happen, but he'd wondered what he could do. After all, if they had dark powers, Lumis wouldn't be able to stop them. However... he couldn't let them get to Kisa either... At this moment in time, he'd felt so powerless, but wanted to fight back everything with all of his might. "I'm Lumis Raonlier, archeologist that majors in the study of ancient technology. Who are you?"

He'd directed this question mostly at the boy, looking over at Karasu occasionally to make sure she didn't get too close. However, something felt like the boy was the bigger threat. It wasn't quite his presence that was threatening. It was a feeling in Lumis' gut. Why...?

Everything seemed to explode into chaos in an instant. First Lumis had stepped forward, then suddenly she was being surrounded by their duel spirits in a protective barrier. Kisa growled and lifted her duel disk. As much as she loved Lumis...she really hated being unable to fight for herself.

Her disk activated, the blue eye of the white dragons head suddenly glowed red and her life point counter lit up. "And I am Kisa Ashi.....I mean...Raonlier! Archaelogist as well...seriously...why are you here?" Kisa decided she may as well start getting used to referring to herself as a Raonlier now. After all, she was getting married very very soon. Speaking of which..... She sounded aggitated as her next words were full of acidic anger. "You are kinda interrupting something here!" She kept her eyes on the girl, not even noticing the guy in the farther distance. The girl seemed intrigued with her...that didn't sit well with Kisa...not well at all...

Then the girl seemed to go into hysterics, yelling at someone to keep someone else away. Now Kisa noticed the guy coming towards them. Oh great.....more company, she thought to herself. Why the hell did these people have to come today? Couldn't they wait another week, at least? Just enough time for her to elope with Lumis, then enjoy a nice honeymoon. But noooooo.....apparently other people had other plans.

Kisa was beyond livid right now....

Chuku stopped moving forwards when he was about 5 feet away from the group. "My name is Chuku. And you Kisa Ashina." He said looking at Kisa. "I admit it is tempting to go after you right now, but I have specific orders NOT to go after you yet. Today I came for her." He then turned to Karasu.

"Karasu of the Chaos Knights, I challenge you to a duel. And this is one challenge you won't be able to refuse."

Her cries seemed to stop as he declared the duel challenge. She looked to the ground, her expression seeming to darken as the area around her body seemed to emit a light orange glow. She took a step up, still on one knee as she forced herself back up. Ignoring the words of Kisa and the other male, Lumis. She turned her head to the boy who challenged her, her eyes now glowing a pale, blank orange. Standing now on both feet, her Dark Flat Top began to glow with the same orange aura, before disappearing into her duel disk, once again becoming one with her deck.

Landing on the ground gracefully, Ryouko looked at Chuku grimly, raising her duel disk as the orb in the center began to swirl and glow a bright green. "I'll rip you up.... Kill all of them .. I dont want to feel like this anymore. ." she whimpered softly grasping at her heart. She would accept the man's challenge.

Chuku raised his own duel disk, which was just a huge circle-shaped thing. It was grey with a ring of red around the middle. There was also a strange symbol in the middle of it colored black.

"Lets take this to somewhere a little more private." The charm around his neck began to glow, and a black dome of smoke surrounded Chuku and Karasu, leaving Kisa and Lumis outside of it. The game had become a shadow game.

Lumis couldn't help but blush as he'd listened to her introduction, and the sound of his family name coming after her name put a ring in his ears that could not be easily forgotten. However, what also showed itself was her clear agitation and annoyance towards the two who had interrupted their peace. His fists clenched as he was probably just as angry as she was. He'd held back, though. He knew his priorities. His number one priority was to get the two of them out of here. He just needed to get the right opportunity...

Lumis noted how each of the two newcomers were now directing their attention towards each other and away from both Kisa and himself. He'd quickly taken her hand in his and began to guide her away from the sphere of darkness. "Kisa... I want to take them out as much as you do, but this is not our fight. While they're distracted, we have to get out of here. If we get away far enough, they won't be able to find us. We can elope in peace." In his head, he'd hated the idea of running, but he'd simply wanted what was best for Kisa. It was also part of his selfish desires to keep her with him, not wanting her to fall back into the darkness. He'd started to step away from the darkness, pulling lightly on her arm as he'd moved.

Kisa's agitation suddenly disappeared at the sound of his voice, and at the sight of the newcomers' attentions distracted by battle. Granted....the battle was closer to her house than she'd preferred....and by the looks of things it was a shadow game....but still, the voice of Lumis had a certain power over her, and she was happy for it. Then of course, he mentioned the magic word.

Elope.

She turned around quickly, deactivating her duel disk, and grabbing his hand. She ran forward, finding the garage which contained their mode of escape. Activating the door, she ducked under it before it was fully open and began throwing on a jumpsuit and a helmet. The light from the outside revealed a sleek, new yellow and black motorcycle. It was only seated for one, but she didn't care. "Get on, Lumis." She handed him a helmet and jumped on, revving its engine to life.

Once he was on....she would speed away from here faster than a bat out of hell.

The dark dome disappeared, revealing Chuku to standing up unharmed while Katasu was on the ground unconscious.

"I wander why my master is worried about you Chaos Knights. If they're all at your level, then you don't pose a significant threat to us. Since you lost though, I get to decide your fate. You will be in a coma for one day. And when you wake up, every time you see this symbol, you will be terrified out of your mind, but won't know why, as I will erase this encounter from your mind." He help up his duel disk, where a cross and a skull was engraved on it. He then raised his hand and muttered something, and a dark aura surrounded Katasu. He looked up then, and saw that the others had gone.

"It seems like they ran off and left this woman to die. Cowards. No matter though, I'll find them eventually. But I'm in no hurry though. Besides, I have a busy schedule; I have a pro duel tomorrow." He walked to his duel runner and rode off back into the city.
